10 Chinese Firms, Including Vivo and Xiaomi, Activate “.CN” Domain
The China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) announced on Tuesday that 10 Chinese top 500 enterprises, including vivo, Xiaomi Corporation, and Tencent Cloud Computing, have recently activated China’s top-level domains, “.cn” and “.中国.”
According to CNNIC, country code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD) stands for and symbolizes both the country and the region in the cyber world. The Chinese ccTLD is the logo of China on the internet, and the domain name in Chinese is the key to activate the internet with Chinese characters, bearing the mission and culture of the nation.
Many influential enterprises both in China and abroad have registered and used China’s top-level domain, such as China Mobile (10086.cn), Bank of China (boc.cn), State Grid Corporation of China (sgcc.com.cn), China Railway (12306.cn), China National Petroleum Corporation (cnpc.com.cn), Tencent (qq.中国), Baidu Xiaodu Mall (小度.中国), BYD (by-dauto.com.cn), and more.
Under the rapid development of the digital economy, China’s ccTLD and domain in Chinese are both the business cards for China to reach the world and for international companies to approach China.

The CNNIC, as the country’s administration organization for ccTLD, strictly implements requirements for verification of real-name information of domains, establishes and improves the governance mechanism of phishing websites, and makes every effort to ensure the safe, stable and healthy operation of ccTLD. Over the years, ccTLD consistently maintains 100% availability of core services and Service Level Agreement (SLA) indexes at the top international level and safeguards the rights and interests of users.
