Huawei Nova 10 Series to Be Released in June, Rumors Say
On Friday, a well-known digital blogger on Weibo said that Huawei’s Nova 10 series will be released in June, but will only support the 4G network.
Huawei has launched a number of 4G smartphones in the past year or so. Models equipped with the Snapdragon 888 or Kirin 9000 can only support 4G networks.
In this case, rumors say that Huawei will introduce a smartphone shell which can enable the smartphone to support both 4G and 5G networks. The blogger nicknamed “Changzhang Shi Guantongxue” also said that the smartphone shell that helps 4G smartphones support 5G networks may be launched at the press conference in June or after the third quarter.
According to the photo of the smartphone shell previously exposed by Weibo blogger “Changan Shumajun“, it seems that users need to plug SIM cards into the smartphone shell. At present, it is uncertain whether it is a mobile WiFi product powered by smartphone.
It is also not clear how Huawei will support 5G networks through its smartphone shell, but smartphone maker Motorola has previously introduced a module with a built-in Qualcomm X50 baseband supporting 5G networks for its Moto Z3.
The last model of Huawei’s Nova series was the Nova 9 which was released in September last year. The smartphone was shipped with the company’s proprietary HarmonyOS already installed on the device. The Nova 9 series featured two 32MP selfie cameras, a LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100W fast charging, and utilized Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G 4G chipset. The phone retails for 2,699 yuan ($424) and up.
