At the beginning of this year, ZTE released Axon M, a foldable dual-screen smartphone. At the time of release, ZTE CEO announced that the company’s next generation flagship would be named Axon 9. Now we will finally get a chance to meet this exciting new flagship in person with the launch at IFA 2018.
Recently, ZTE posted multiple teaser images on its official Weibo account, indicating that the company will be participating in the German IFA on August 31st. The giant “9” displayed right at the center of an image is a heavy foreshadow of the dawn of the new flagship.
The Axon 9 is rumored to sport the Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Leaked information online also indicated that the flagship will run on an Android 8.1 system with an aspect ratio of 18:9.
Aside from these, no further information is given. It seems additional details of the smartphone would only be given when the trade show kicks off. Both the Axon 9 and Axon 9 Pro should be announced at IFA next week.
