Changan Automobile Reveals Progress of Avatr 11
According to a document disclosed by Changan Automobile on Wednesday, more than 1,000 people in Huawei’s intelligent driving research and development team have been stationed in Chongqing for quite some and have been working with engineers to develop the company’s newest vehicle, the Avatr 11.
Avatr Technology is an automobile brand established by a trio of companies, including Changan Automobile, Huawei and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL). According to Changan Automobile, Huawei has been deeply involved in the development of intelligent driving, intelligent console and application system of the vehicles. Further, Huawei helped bring about the manufacturing of the Avatr while jointly building the CHN platform with Changan Automobile and CATL.
Avatr’s vehicles are being produced at the Chongqing Changan Yuzui Base which has an intelligent and flexible production line and can achieve an annual production capacity of 350,000 vehicles. In terms of channel construction, the Avatr will focus on self-built channels while expanding to more diversified channel models together with its partners. Furthermore, Avatr is also working with Huawei to enter the latter’s sales channels. The company plans to open its first store in the second quarter of this year and then expand to about 100 cities throughout the year.

In terms of production, the Avatr 11 has a substantial computing power of 400TOPS and a 750V high-voltage charging system. The vehicle is equipped with Huawei HI (Huawei Inside), a fully stacked smart car solution, in addition to a super-sensing system and a super-computing platform with a computing power of 400TOPS, including 3 lidar sensors, 6 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 13 cameras.
