Galactic Energy to Deliver Large-Scale Commercial Rocket Launches

Chinese commercial rocket firm Galactic Energy announced on Tuesday that it will launch the Ceres-1 (Remote 3) commercial launch vehicle in the near future, with the mission code: “WHITE IS THE NEW BLACK.” It also announced that the firm’s large-scale commercial launches and deliveries will officially commence.

The Ceres-1 (Remote 1) carrier rocket was launched on November 7, 2020. This is the first vector-controlled solid carrier rocket in the commercial aerospace industry, and it entered the 500km sun-synchronous orbit for the first time, realizing active de-orbit clearance of the last stage of the rocket for the first time. It also applied the innovative technologies of vertical self-aiming, simple control with low fuel consumption, and the semi-system test of the orbital attitude control power system.

On December 7, 2021, the Ceres-1 (Remote 2) carrier rocket was successfully launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China, and five satellites were successfully sent into the scheduled orbit, and the launch mission was declared a complete success.

Ceres-1 is a four-stage launch vehicle providing customized launch services for small commercial satellites. The rocket’s first to third stages adopt solid engines, and the fourth stage adopts an advanced liquid engine. The rocket has a diameter of 1.4 meters and a length of around 20 meters, with a liftoff weight of nearly 33 tons. It can send a payload of 300 kilograms into a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit.

In addition, Galactic Energy announced that it has successfully completed the 2107-second ultra-long-range high-modulus test run of the four-stage orbit-controlled engine.
