NIO Adjusts Business Organization Structure in Europe

Sina Tech reported on Wednesday that it had learned from people familiar with the matter that NIO had issued an announcement to sort out the organizational structure of its business development in Europe.

Chen Chen, head of European business development, and the other general managers of the company’s European divisions would report directly to Qin Lihong, co-founder and president of NIO.

According to NIO‘s announcement, the former tier 1 department – Global Business Development has been renamed to European Business Development and will still be headed by Chen Chen, reporting to Qin Lihong. The renamed department has new sub-department including the European User Operation Department and European User Development Department, both of which will report to Chen Chen.

Chen Chen had previously been reporting to Feng Wei, Chief Financial Officer of NIO. An insider said the company recognizes the initial development efforts of Feng Wei’s in Europe. The company went so far as to say that it considers his work as “outstanding contribution” to the company as a whole. Sina Tech has confirmed the above news with the company.

NIO has established R&D, design, production and commercial facilities in 13 cities, including San Jose (USA), Munich (Germany), London (UK) and Hefei (China). According to company releases, after Norway, NIO will operate in four other countries this year: Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark.
