Tencent Cloud to Launch Lightweight Tools
At the first Techo Day held on Tuesday, Internet giant Tencent released a series of developer-friendly lightweight products, involving Cloud Native, machine learning, audio and video, big data and other fields, releasing the underlying capabilities of Tencent‘s self-developed products to developers.
According to Dowson Tong, Senior Executive Vice President at Tencent, the demand for the industrial Internet are much more complex than the consumer Internet. Developers need both industry KnowHow and upstream and downstream collaboration. The R&D of a product will need more process tools, collaboration platforms, and technology accumulation than prior iterations.

For high-frequency development situations such as the building of Web applications, applets and apps, Tencent has now launched Lighthouse, a lightweight application server, which packages IaaS resources, application software and various configurations in a unified outlet ready to use out of the box. Even beginner developers will only need less than a minute to build a website.
Tencent‘s WeDa Low Code service can build enterprise OA portals and approval management systems by means of “building blocks”. At the same time, it is deeply connected with the mini program process, which is convenient for building and publishing mini programs and reaching customers quickly. At present, WeDa has served 100,000 developers and built 300,000 applications.
WeChat ecology, represented by mini programs, is a technical hotspot that developers pay attention to. Tencent Cloud and WeChat jointly launched Cloud Development, which served more than 2 million developers and became the preferred one-stop serverless development platform for WeChat developers, with daily calls exceeding 3 billion.
In addition, on June 16, Tencent announced that its self-developed business has been fully launched into the cloud, and its clouding scale has exceeded 50 million cores within three years, with accumulated cost savings exceeding 3 billion yuan. This means that Tencent‘s businesses, including QQ, WeChat, Tencent Video, Honor of Kings, etc., have been developed and operated based on the public cloud model, just like Tencent Cloud’s million-level external clients.
