AITO M7 Released, Delivery Starts in August
AITO, an electric vehicle brand jointly created by Huawei and Seres, a brand of local automaker Chongqing Sokon, launched its new SUV, the AITO M7 on July 4. AITO offers three versions of the M7 to choose from, starting at 319,800 yuan ($478,100), 339,800 and 379,800 respectively. Deliveries will begin in August.
The AITO M7 has a length, width and height of 5,020 mm, 1,945 mm and 1,775 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The interior of the M7 continues the minimalist style of the earlier M5, putting the driver at the center of attention. The vehicle is equipped with a 10.4-inch curved full LCD dashboard and a 15.6-inch HDR intelligent central control screen with HarmonyOS.
In addition, a crystal electronic gear lever, high-grade leather and wood grain accessories, and hidden air outlets are used throughout the interior of the vehicle. In response to some calls from M5 users, the M7 has increased the central control cabinet to make room for personal belongings such as tablet computers, folding umbrellas or handbags.
The M7 will have three rows of seats. The first two rows of seats support electric adjustment, ventilation, heating and massage. The third row of seats will feature a six-gear adjustment so that passengers of different sizes can find their own comfortable setting.
In terms of power, the car is equipped with Huawei’s DriveONE pure electric drive platform and is available in two versions: a rear-wheel-drive version and a four-wheel-drive version. The two versions enable acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in as fast as 7.8 seconds and 4.8 seconds. Bosch’s latest braking system allows the car to stop from 100km/h to 0 in only 34.2 meters.
The AITO M7 has a CLTC range of 230 km on battery power for the rear-wheel-drive version and 200 km for the four-wheel-drive version.
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s Terminal Business Group, said that the AITO’s service network is gradually becoming more developed. At present, its charging network includes 180,000 charging piles covering more than 300 cities across the country. In addition, more than 600 Huawei stores nationwide can provide test drives for the new model, and more than 122 AITO user centers spread across more than 109 cities can provide users with a high-quality service experience.
Yu went on to say that strong manufacturing capacity is the guarantee for the AITO brand to realize rapid product delivery. Since AITO just opened another factory, the company will be able to combine its production capacity with that of the Liangjiang Smart Factory to reach 300,000 units annually.
