OPPO F19 Flagship May Feature a 10X Lossless Zoom Camera
Leaked sketches of OPPO‘s next handset surfaced online on Dec. 24, showing what seems to be the company’s 2019 smartphone — the OPPO F19. It’s tipped to feature a 10x lossless zoom technology, triple rear cameras, and a truly full screen display.
As seen from the leaked images, a mirror-like sensor seems to be working with the snappers to achieve the 10x lossless zoom. It can be speculated that OPPO’s patented lossless zoom technology will use a new triple-camera design based off of a more optimized version of its 5x zoom periscope structure. Even with a triple-camera setup, the phone is still reasonably thin, its thickness unaffected.
OPPO’s previous 5x lossless zoom uses a periscope dual camera structure and optical image stabilization is applied to the telephoto lens. The dual-camera setup is different from the traditional one in that the telephoto lens are aligned horizontally, while the wide-angle lens are aligned vertically. A special optical prism is used to refract the image onto the lens group, and then through OPPO’s own high resolution image processor in order to achieve the 5x lossless zoom.
