Photos Leaked of Zeekr’s Pure Electric Small SUV
Chinese automotive industry blogger with Weibo username “Delu Loves Driving” posted on August 19 that, as Geely revealed at yesterday’s interim results conference, Zeekr will come out with two new products in the second half of 2022. In addition to the newly announced MPV, the Zeekr 009, the other one is the Zeekr BX1E. Simultaneously, the blogger leaked spy photos of the Zeekr BX1E.

The product is marketed as a pure electric small SUV, and is expected to be released as soon as this year. It is predicted that the car is similar to Smart #1 and also built based on the company’s sustainable experience architecture (SEA). The prices of the main models are expected to be between 150,000 and 200,000 yuan ($22,035 – $29,379).
It can be seen from the photos that the product’s ratio of front overhang, rear overhang and door is similar to that of Smart #1, which means that the vehicle’s length and wheelbase may also be similar to that of the Smart #1. For reference, the Smart #1 has a length of 4,270 mm and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.
Although the vehicle was covered with a black cloth in the photos, judging from the outline of the car body, it might adopt Zeekr’s family design, so the car might also feature split headlights. There is no information about the interior design in the spy photos exposed this time, but it is expected to be similar to that of the Zeekr 001, with a full LCD dashboard and suspended central control panel.
The new product is also similar to the Smart #1 in terms of power. For reference, the Smart #1 features a rear motor, with a maximum power of 200kW and a peak torque of 343 N • m, and its zero-to-one-hundred acceleration time is 6.7 seconds. It is equipped with 66kWh ternary lithium battery, and has a maximum cruising range of 560km under CLTC conditions.
Geely released its interim financial report for 2022 on August 18, which showed that its operating income in the first half of this year was 58.2 billion yuan ($8.55 billion), up 29% year-on-year. In addition, the company delivered 19,013 vehicles in the first half of 2022, and 70,000 vehicles are expected to be delivered throughout the whole year.
