XPeng Responds to Autonomous Driving Emergency Avoidance Almost Causing An Accident
On May 3rd, a netizen posted a video claiming that while using the XPeng G9’s autonomous driving system, the car turned right to avoid a large vehicle in front but did not return to its original direction afterwards. The owner then took over and quickly turned the steering wheel to avoid an accident.
In response, XPeng customer service stated that the OTA version of the XPeng G9 has been updated recently and is currently at version 4.2.1. They have not received any feedback from this customer yet and will report it to the headquarters for analysis by engineers.
The customer service representative also mentioned that drivers should not solely rely on assisted driving features while driving and should remain attentive.
