iQIYI Sues Minimax for Unauthorized Use of Content in Model Training
iQIYI has recently filed a lawsuit with the Xuhui District People’s Court in Shanghai, accusing Chinese AI startup MiniMax of infringing its copyright in the process of AI model training and content generation.
It was revealed that MiniMax was accused of using copyrighted materials owned by iQIYI without authorization for model training, resulting in generated content that constitutes infringement of iQIYI‘s copyright. iQIYI demands that MiniMax immediately cease this infringement and seeks compensation of approximately 100,000 RMB.
MiniMax is a large-model startup company, which along with Baichuan Intelligence, Moonshot AI, 0.1 AI, StepFun, and Zhipu AI are collectively known as the ‘Big Model Six Tigers’.
In September 2024, MiniMax released its first AI high-definition video generation model Abab-video-1 and attracted attention. This move led to an over 800% increase in web traffic for HailuoAI.
