BYD Enters Kazakhstan Market

On February 28, 2025, BYD joined hands with its partner Astana Motors to hold a product launch event in Almaty and Astana, Kazakhstan, officially entering the Kazakhstani market. The initial models introduced to the market include the flagship all-electric sedan Han EV and the Song PLUS EV DM-i.

The launch ceremony took place primarily at the BYD Al-Farabi store in Almaty, with simultaneous events at the BYD Turan Astana, BYD MyCar Kuldzhinka Almaty, and BYD MyCar Astana stores. All models have been locally tuned for the climate and road conditions in Kazakhstan.

The Han EV unveiled in this launch is equipped with BYD’s independently developed blade battery and CTB body integration technology. It boasts a maximum power of 380kW, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, offers a WLTP range of 565 kilometers, supports 120kW fast charging, and can charge from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes. The Song PLUS EV introduced in this event is positioned as a pure electric SUV with optional ranges of 505/602 kilometers, featuring intelligent driving assistance systems and a spacious cabin suitable for both city commuting and long-distance travel. The Song PLUS DM-i unveiled in this event utilizes plug-in hybrid technology, offering a pure electric range of 150 kilometers under NEDC conditions and a comprehensive range of up to 1200 kilometers, showcasing excellent fuel efficiency.

As of now, BYD has already entered three countries in Central Asia.
