OPPO Aims to Produce 100 Million Smartphones in India in 2020
According to Business Today, an Indian executive of smartphone manufacturer OPPO stated on Tuesday that the company aims to produce 100 million smartphones in India this year.
“In 2020, we will continue to focus on accelerating growth through ‘Made in India’. We expect to produce 100 million smartphones in India by the end of this year. We will also focus on building integrated technology system for immersive personalized 5G experiences,” said Sumit Walia, OPPO’s vice president of product and marketing in India.

According to statistics from market research company IDC, OPPO ’s shipments in India in the third quarter increased by 92.3% year-on-year, with its market share reaching 11.8%. In India’s fastest-growing $300 to $500 range smartphone market, OPPO now ranks the second among all vendors.
Currently, OPPO has 6 global institutes and 4 research centers worldwide, including one in Hyderabad, south-central India. The company will expand its operations in Hyderabad or Bangalore and increase its investment in research and development.
