The company first entered Australian market in 2018 and currently operates across seven cities in four states, providing three services such as DiDi Express, DiDi Share (carpooling) and DiDi Max (7-seater). Didi plans to roll out its Sydney launch with DiDi Express and DiDi Max services first.
“DiDi’s driver-partners have served over 2 million riders across Australia. Introducing our services to the global economic and cultural hub of Sydney is a major milestone for our young team here,” said Lyn Ma, General Manager of DiDi Australia in an official statement. “The trust that people have in us is truly humbling and inspiring. We are eager to learn and work with all stakeholders to innovate continuously for this community, and to build a better and more trusted ride-hailing platform as a contributor to the city’s broader smart transportation program.”
