Huawei to Release New Version of Enterprise Linux Distribution Platform openEuler on September 25
Telecommunications and technology firm Huawei announced via Weibo, a Chinese equivalent of Twitter, on Wednesday that the company will launch its new openEuler operating system on September 25.
According to its official website, openEuler is an open-source and free Linux distribution platform, which will build an open, diverse, and inclusive software ecosystem with developers all over the world through an open community. At the same time, openEuler is also an innovative platform, encouraging everyone to put forward and develop new ideas, and practice new solutions on the platform.
At a symposium held on September 14, Huawei Founder Ren Zhengfei made a statement on the matter, indicating that the firm is putting more effort into strengthening the digital infrastructure and providing it with a sustained and reliable foundation.
Ren added, “HarmonyOS and EulerOS have a long way to go, and we need to work harder. HarmonyOS has already started the pace of progress. We are looking forward to it.”

On September 13, according to data disclosed by Huawei, in just three months, the number of upgraded users of Harmony OS 2 exceeded 100 million. As of August, more than 1,000 hardware eco-manufacturers have joined the HarmonyOS Connect brand, and more than 300 application and service partners have developed HarmonyOS applications and services. The number of HarmonyOS developers has exceeded 1.3 million, an increase of over ten times compared to last year.
