New Generation BYD eBuses Delivered to Germany
On Tuesday, BYD announced the delivery of its first batch of five new generation 12-meter pure electric buses to DB Regio Bus, a bus group owned by Deutsche Bahn. The vehicles are now in operation in Karlsruhe, Germany.
According to BYD, the model delivered this time is BYD’s new generation 12-meter pure electric bus, a concept model that first debuted at the Busworld Brussels in Belgium in 2019.
In terms of battery power, the vehicle adopts the BYD Iron-Phosphate Battery which gives the vehicle a 400 kilometer range after charging under normal, Standardised on Road Test (SORT) conditions. BYD said that from the Netherlands to Germany, during the nearly 500-kilometer journey, the bus only needs a short stop to replenish its battery power .
In addition, the vehicle is equipped with FleetLink, a feature developed by BYD which can help operators to remotely manage vehicles while keeping track of the operation status of the fleet. Operators can also begin vehicle preheating through this system. The vehicles are also equipped with an emissions-reducing CO2 air conditioning system to further promote energy conservation.
