OriginOS Ocean, New Version of Vivo’s Original System, to be Released December 9
Vivo announced on Monday that a new version of its smartphone operating system, OriginOS, will be released on December 9. The new OS will be named “OriginOS Ocean”.
“Origin” conveys the design concept of “original design, and design as the original” of OriginOS, while Ocean refers to the source of life. Vivo named Origin and Ocean together and embodied the significance of this iteration of OriginOS Ocean with the help of the implication that Ocean refuses no rivers and creates a much more complete ecosystem.
OriginOS is a highly customized operating system based on the Android operating system. Besides the advantages of a smooth, stable, and convenient operation, the OS also has new features which have found favor among many users. Features include “Huarong Grid”, “Atomic Component”, “Super Card Pack” and “Behavioral Wallpaper”.
Taking “Huarong Grid” as an example: desktop icons can not only be edited in size and shape but also be dragged to and arranged in any position.
OriginOS’s other built-in feature, “Super Card Pack”, includes the ability to scan and show payment codes, bus codes, etc., and can be easily called up in either off-screen or on-screen state.
According to the teaser trailer released on OriginOS’s official Weibo account, Ocean’s operating system will continue with the concept of a “Brave New World” of the previous generation. The company’s aim with the new OS is to continue to build a better digital world while changing its design style. Both the UI interface and music interface will receive a facelift and bring an easier-to-use and more interactive experience.
