Covert Photos of BYD Han EV Convertible Leaked
Several undercover road test photos of a suspected BYD Han EV convertible have been leaked, IThome reported on Thursday. Although the car was covered with camouflage, it could still be identified from the front face as belonging to the BYD Han series. The hood of the car was not closed at the time of shooting, so whether it was a soft-top convertible or a hard top is temporarily unknown.
The new car basically continues the design of the BYD Han EV, adopts BYD’s typical “Dragon Face,” and uses flat and narrow lamp sets and wide chrome strips. The biggest difference is the convertible design.
On the car’s side, the convertible version inherits the slender body of the Han EV, leaving a large space behind the front seats, so it is possible for the car to adopt a four-seat design. The rim of the new model adopts the shape of BYD’s Han EV extended range model.
In terms of power, referring to the currently available Han EV, the new model is expected to come in two versions, namely front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models. The former has a maximum power of 163kW and peak torque of 330 Nm, while the latter has a maximum power of 363kW and peak torque of 680 Nm.
In terms of cruising range, referring to the information of BYD Han EV registered with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, BYD has developed 506km, 550km and 605km versions.

BYD has not previously disclosed any information about this model. The BYD E-Seed GT concept car, however, also appeared on the street last month, which is regarded as the pinnacle of BYD’s design, and is reportedly a prototype of the Han EV.
Besides, the convertible car appeared in front of a FAW Toyota factory. Earlier this month, a source said that Toyota will launch an all-electric small car in China by the end of next year and will seek key technologies from its partner BYD.
Since BYD’s brand-new model appeared in front of Toyota’s factory, some netizens speculated that they were doing a technical verification for Toyota.
