AR Optical Waveguide Module Supplier Lochn Optics Completes Round-C Financing
Lochn Optics, an AR optical waveguide modules supplier, announced on Thursday that it had completed round-C financing totaling over 100 million yuan ($15.69 million). This round of financing was led by Huaqiang Capital and followed by Everest VC, Haojun Capital, Guichanqing and other institutions, with Lonchn’s existing shareholder Junsan Investment continuing its investment.
Founded in 2014, Lochn Optics is the first optical waveguide modules supplier in China to develop the whole product series of array, grating and volume holographic optical waveguide and self-developed unique optical waveguide design software. Its products are widely used in policing, fire protection, industry, cultural tourism, education, consumption and other fields.
Lochn’s self-built Shenzhen-Shantou Optical Waveguide Factory is expected to have a full production capacity of 1 million pieces a year, making the company the most industrialized optical waveguide module supplier in China, whose supply capacity and stability are far ahead of its peers.
By the end of 2021, Lochn Optics had applied for more than 170 patents and been granted nearly 80, which greatly strengthened its layout of intellectual property rights of optical waveguides.
AR has already solved many problems in security, industrial inspection, conference cooperation, training, cultural tourism, education and other scenarios, and has been recognized by more and more customers and large factories.

As the core optical component of AR glasses, the optical waveguide module has clearer and clearer development prospects. At present, it has completely replaced the past technical components such as prism, free-form prism and Bird Bath and has become the preferred optical display solution for AR.
Lochn said that after this round of financing, on the one hand, it will continue to increase investment in customization and automation equipment of array optical waveguides. On the other hand, it will increase investment in R&D of diffraction optical waveguide products and build semiconductor lithography equipment diffraction grating optical waveguide production lines covering products such as electron beam exposure equipment, etching equipment, electron microscope detection equipment and more.
