OPPO Find X: New Flagship with No Notch at €999, Lamborghini Edition at €1699
OPPO launched its latest flagship device, Find X, at the Louvre in Paris on June 19. The high-end smartphone from one of the largest smartphone makers in the world was revealed under much anticipation as the last member of the Find series, the Find 7, was released 4 years ago in 2014.

The most surprising feature of the Find X is that unlike most Android devices that have been released recently, it does not have the infamous iPhone X-like notch. Instead, it utilizes a mechanical slider to hide the front-facing camera together with other features that are usually designed into the notch. OPPO calls their slider camera the “Stealth 3D camera” and their new facial unlocking mechanism (also on the slider), the “O-Face”.
With the notch out of the way, the 6.4 inch screen has an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 percent! The curved screen has a Full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 2440 x 1880 pixels.
In terms of camera specifications, it has a 25MP front camera and dual 16MP + 20MP cameras at the back. The front camera features 3D AI selfie mode as well as the iPhone Animoji-like Omoji. As all smartphones released in 2018 boost AI camera functions, the Find X is no exception. It features AI portrait mode, AI scene recognition and much more.
The new flagship comes in two bright colors of Glacier Blue and Bordeaux Red. It uses the Snapdragon 845 with AI engine and has 8GB of RAM plus 256GB of ROM. The new flagship runs on the ColorOS 5.1 AI intuitive system which is based on the Android 8.1. OPPO has also partnered up with Google to provide many sought after Google features and apps such as Google Assistant and Google Lens.
In terms of its battery life, it uses VOOC fast charge for its 3,730 mAh battery which allows a two hour usage with just 15 minutes of charging.
Another product launched at the event is a special Lamborghini edition of the Find X. The Lamborghini edition comes in black with gold embellishments and the Lamborghini logo at the back. It also comes with Super VOOC technology that can charge the 3,400 mAh battery to full in just 35 minutes.
The price of the models unveiled is on the higher end even for flagship phones. The regular 8GB + 256GB version is priced at €999 ($1,157), while the Lamborghini edition with 512GB of storage costs €1699 ($1,968). They are expected to be available starting this August while country specific pricing and configurations may vary.
