BYD Song MAX DM-i Car Model to Launch March 12
Shenzhen-based automaker BYD announced on Tuesday that the 2022 BYD Song MAX DM-i, a compact multi purpose vehicle (MPV), will be officially launched on March 12. The new car has already opened for pre-orders, and five configuration models have been launched, with the pre-sale prices ranging from 146,800 yuan to 173,800 yuan ($23,255 – $27,533).
The appearance of the model adopts the firm’s design known as “Dragon Face,” and another model with a raised roof will be added. The car comes in six-seat and seven-seat versions for customers to choose from, among which the raised-roof models have six seats. With the raised roof, the overall height reaches 1880 mm, giving the interior a more spacious feeling.
In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a DM-i plug-in hybrid system, consisting of a 1.5L engine and motor, with power loss and fuel consumption of 4.4L every 100km. Its cruising range reaches 1090km when full charged with electricity and gasoline. In addition, the acceleration from 0-100km/h is 7.9 seconds.
The car’s energy storage battery adopts a ferrous lithium phosphate blade battery, and the pure electric cruising range has two versions, including 51 km and 105 km. The 105 km cruising range model supports fast charging, and can be brought from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.

In addition, the 2022 BYD Song MAX DM-i comes with its own “Super Camp Mode,” which provides a vehicle-to-load (VtoL) mobile power station feature, which can discharge household loads with a maximum power of 3.3 kW.
