Accumulated Mileage of NIO’s Chinese Users Exceeds 5B Km

According to data released by Chinese EV manufacturer NIO on Friday, as of that day, the accumulated mileage of NIO<img decoding="async" class="trade-card__loading" layout="fixed" height="50" width="50" src="https://assets.pandaily.com/uploads/2021/12/loading.png" placeholder />‘s Chinese users had exceeded five billion kilometers.

The company’s data show that its users have driven more than 418.172 million km with the NIO<img decoding="async" class="trade-card__loading" layout="fixed" height="50" width="50" src="https://assets.pandaily.com/uploads/2021/12/loading.png" placeholder /> Pilot assisted driving system and 157.582 million km using its Navigate on Pilot (NOP). Customers have used the company’s charging services 1.184 million times and battery swap services 8.809 million times.

The firm also said that a total of 3,126 users have driven more than 100,000 kilometers, including 54 users who have driven over 200,000 km, and two users more than 300,000 km.

NIO<img decoding="async" class="trade-card__loading" layout="fixed" height="50" width="50" src="https://assets.pandaily.com/uploads/2021/12/loading.png" placeholder /> successfully listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) last Friday, making it the first Chinese enterprise to be listed in New York, Hong Kong and Singapore simultaneously. The company will publish its results for the first quarter of 2022 on the website of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (HKEx) and its official website on June 9, 2022.

In terms of delivery data, NIO<img decoding="async" class="trade-card__loading" layout="fixed" height="50" width="50" src="https://assets.pandaily.com/uploads/2021/12/loading.png" placeholder /> announced on May 15 that its 200,000th mass-production model was delivered in Chongqing. NIO<img decoding="async" class="trade-card__loading" layout="fixed" height="50" width="50" src="https://assets.pandaily.com/uploads/2021/12/loading.png" placeholder /> delivered 5,074 intelligent electric vehicles in April, including 1,251 ES8s, 1,878 ES6s, 1,252 EC6s and 693 ET7s.

Looking back, its development is inseparable from investment and paying attention to products’ R&D. By the end of April, 2022, the firm had applied for and been authorized for more than 4,800 patents, establishing a complete self-developed R&D system regarding motors, electric control, battery packs, intelligent gateways, intelligent cockpits and autonomous driving technology. According to the data, the firm’s R&D investment in 2021 increased by 84.58% year-on-year, reaching 4.592 billion yuan ($687 million). It is expected that the firm’s R&D investment will double year-on-year in 2022, and the number of R&D employees will increase to 9,000 by the end of the year.
