Airbnb China Appoints Siew Kum Hong as Chief Operating Officer

Airbnb China today announced the appointment of Siew Kum Hong to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective on June 30. In this newly created role, Siew Kum Hong will be responsible for the business operations and team management of China Business and report directly to Airbnb Co-founder, Chief Strategy Officer and Chairman of Airbnb China Nathan Blecharczyk.

Siew Kum Hong is an Airbnb veteran who has a proven track record of enabling teams at Airbnb to achieve their best.

Siew Kum Hong joined Airbnb in 2012 as its APAC General Counsel and subsequently became its Regional Director for the Asia Pacific region. Prior to Airbnb, Siew Kum Hong was the General Counsel for Yahoo! Southeast Asia. From 2007-2009, Kum Hong was a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore advocating for a range of causes with a focus on social justice.
