AITO M5e SUV to Debut on September 12

The AITO M5e was made public by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology earlier this month. Chinese media outlet Yiche reported on Monday that the vehicle is expected to debut and announce pricing at Huawei’s new product launch event on September 12.

The AITO M5e is positioned as a medium SUV, which is a pure electric version of the M5 model. The tail is basically the same as that of the AITO M5, with the popular through taillights and the brand’s monogram in the center of the tail light.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in terms of body size, the AITO M5e measures 4,770 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, and 1,625 mm tall and its wheelbase is 2880 mm. In terms of power, the AITO M5e will be available in two versions: rear-drive single-motor version and four-drive dual-motor version. The maximum power of a single-motor version is 200kW, and the maximum power of front/rear motors of the dual-motor version is 165kW and 200kW. In terms of batteries, the new vehicles will be equipped with ferrous lithium phosphate batteries.

The interior of the vehicles is consistent with the previous M5 model and will be equipped with a large central control screen, the Huawei HarmonyOS intelligent console as well as a 19-unit speaker system. The vehicle supports many intelligent functions such as the interconnection between smartphones, watches and vehicles, in addition to voice control, application circulation and 3D face recognition.

The monthly sales volume of AITO M5 model exceeded 5,000 units for the first time in May. In addition to these two models, the AITO M7 will also be released on July 4 and will be positioned as a medium-and-large SUV that provides the option of a pure electric version and and extended range power version.
