Amap has launched China’s first real-time roadside parking detection system, “AI Parking Radar,” debuting in Beijing to ease the city’s long-standing parking challenges.

On December 5, 2025, Amap unveiled China’s first real-time roadside parking perception system, known as “AI Parking Radar.” The feature has officially gone live in Beijing, covering tens of thousands of roadside parking spots and providing drivers with a new intelligent parking solution.

“Parking difficulty” has long been a major pain point for city drivers. Finding a roadside spot often requires slowing down, circling repeatedly, and visually checking availability—wasting time and contributing to congestion. Powered by Amap’s spatial intelligence sensing and AI visual analysis, and enhanced with traffic and industry big data, AI Parking Radar can estimate and visualize parking occupancy in near real time, down to the minute.

When using the service, the Amap app presents real-time roadside parking availability directly in lane-level navigation, guiding drivers efficiently to open spots. Even in low-visibility conditions—blocked sightlines, nighttime, or adverse weather—the system provides advance parking status information, reducing guesswork and improving travel efficiency.

Amap plans to expand AI Parking Radar to more cities, helping alleviate nationwide parking anxiety and offering an innovative model for smart mobility and urban static traffic management.
