The 6.2-inch ZenFone 5/5Z is Asus’ smartphone with artificial intelligence (AI) functionality. It is equipped with advanced smart dual-camera systems for automatic detection and self-learning, on top of taking quality photos. The ZenFone 5/5Z has a thin-bezel design allowing for a screen-to-body ratio of up to 90 percent, making the body size similar to most 5.5-inch smartphones on the market. Although virtually identical in appearance to the ZenFone 5, the more powerful and costly 5Z has a built-in Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 845 AIE (Artificial Intelligence Engine), and up to 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage space. The ZenFone 5/5Z enables users to enjoy unparalleled performance.
The ZenFone 5 Lite sports a 6-inch 18:9 full HD display also with significantly reduced bezel design. The major differentiator of the 5 Lite is its dual front-facing camera and front-facing LED flash, similar to the previous ZenFone Selfie series. It has an additional two cameras in the back, packing four cameras in all. Each camera set is comprised of a high resolution main lens and a 120 degree wide-angle lens, making it easy to take group photos and panoramas.
Shen said, “Since the first ZenFone four years ago, Asus has upheld our business values, enabling consumers to experience quality products. The ZenFone 5 series is the most intelligent ZenFone smartphone ever. It provides users with unprecedented experience of numerous applications such as photography and communication, and with the convenience and ease of digital mobile life through revolutionary AI algorithms and cloud data analysis.”
At the press conference, Qualcomm® President Cristiano Amon said, “I am delighted to work with Asus again. The Snapdragon 636/845 adopted by the ZenFone 5 series allows it to multitask rapidly and smoothly. It has neural processing engine, and can do deep learning in the same way as human brains. The processing power allows for more efficient operations, in turn allowing the ZenFone 5 series to become smarter, and perhaps even to become the leader of mobile AI.”
In addition to ZenFone 5 Series, the ZenFone Max smartphone was also displayed at the ASUS conference.
