Auto Controller Chip Firm Flagchip Secures Round-B Funding
Flagchip, a developer of high-end controller chips for automobiles, announced on July 7 that it has completed several hundred million yuan in round-B and a strategic round of financing. These funds are mainly to be used for the R&D and mass production of new-generation power chassis domain controllers for smart cars.
This round-B financing was led by Intel Capital, followed by Glory Ventures, an existing shareholder. Strategic round investors include GAC Capital Co., Ltd. and Kington Capital.
Flagchip was established in October 2020. Over the past year since its establishment, Flagchip has completed several rounds of financing. Investors also include Shangqi Capital under SAIC, Jingwei Hirain, Shunwei Capital and Hua Capital.
The products developed by Flagchip are widely used in the fields of vehicle bodies, automotive instrumentation, safety, power, battery management, and more. Flagchip aims to fill in gaps in the field of domestic next-generation intelligent network-connected vehicle controller chips. Flagchip’s current ArmCortex-M4 based 32-bit automotive grade MCU chip FC4 series has started to flow formally and is expected to get engineering samples in the first quarter of 2022, with mass production planned around July and August. Recently, Flagship announced it will also launch its second high-performance automotive grade chip of the FC4150 series.
