Auto-Level MCU Chip Developer Yuntu Semiconductor Wraps Up Round-A Financing Totaling $15.7 Million
Suzhou Yuntu Semiconductor Co., Ltd. announced on Friday that it has completed round-A financing of 100 million yuan ($15.7 million). The investors in this round include New Alliance Capital, Shenzhen Inovance Tech and Sunic Capital. Its previous investor Xiaomi Yangtze River Industry Fund Partnership Enterprise also participated.
This round of funds will be used to invest in the R&D and marketing of auto-level chips, including ASIL-D safety products that are applied to automobile electric drive and domain controller.
Yuntu Semiconductor, established in July 2020, is an automobile chip fabless company. Its core team has nearly 20 years of experience in designing automobile chips. It took only 15 months to complete the R&D and tape-out of four automobile chips, and proved the firm’s technical strength to its customers with high-quality products.
Its first 32-bit MCU chip YTM32B1L serial products have been mass-produced, and are mainly used in sensor control, EPS, T-Box, TPMS, seat, electric tailgate, car window and light control.

Wang Jianzhong, Chairman of Yuntu Semiconductor, revealed that almost all automobile manufacturers have been seriously affected by the chip shortage this year. In the recent third-quarter financial reports released by more than a dozen listed car companies, most of them attributed the decline in profits to the chip shortage. At the same time, the United States continues to strengthen restrictions on China’s electronic information industry, making it urgent for China to replace its domestic chips. Many market research institutions have predicted that the chip shortage will last at least until the end of 2022, and some people even suggest that it will not ease before 2027. In this way, the external environment has brought unprecedented opportunities to Yuntu Semiconductor.
In 2022, Yuntu Semiconductor plans to provide solutions in domain controller, electric drive and control system, BMS master module and other fields. At present, in the field of domain controller, the company is developing YTM32H series chip products, which support Gigabit Ethernet, multi-channel CAN bus and domain control related functions.
