AutoX’s Fully Driverless RoboTaxi Fleet Exceeds 1,000 Units

AutoX, an autonomous driving company, announced on Wednesday that its fully driverless RoboTaxi fleet has exceeded 1,000 units, making it the largest in China and the world. Each unmanned vehicle is equipped with the AutoX Gen5 fully unmanned system, a system that has ultra high definition sensors and ultra-high computing power.

A total of more than 1,000 unmanned vehicles are mainly in four mega cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. As of February 2022, AutoX RoboTaxi’s self-driving area totaled more than 1,000 km², which is currently the largest RoboTaxi self-driving area in the world.

Founded in 2016, AutoX has established 10 RoboTaxi operation centers around the world to support the high-density testing and operations of more than 1,000 unmanned vehicles in areas larger than 1,000 km². In Shenzhen, AutoX has built four large operation centers.

AutoX’s 10 operation centers are all built for the professional operation of large RoboTaxi fleets. The centers are equipped with professional operations and maintenance equipment such as charging piles, high-speed networks, elevators and sensor calibration turntables, which support completely standardized and automated operations ranging from vehicle maintenance, repair, cleaning, technical operations, calibration, testing and verification, to software and hardware upgrades.

AutoX insists on investing in truly driverless RoboTaxi technology. At present, it has a R&D technical team of over 1,000 people in five R&D centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Silicon Valley. In 2022, AutoX will continue to recruit, adding another 1,000 autonomous driving technology posts.
