Avatr to Build High-Voltage Fast Charging Network With BP in China
Avatr, an electric vehicle brand backed by Changan Automobile, Huawei and CATL, announced on August 5 that it will join hands with BP to build a high-voltage fast charging network that will be implemented in first-tier Chinese cities as soon as this year.
Avatr said that by the end of 2023, more than 100 standardized sites will be built, covering 19 cities in China, and the company will become the first smart electric vehicle (SEV) brand with a large-scale high-voltage charging network in China.
In the future, Avatr’s users can find nearby BP sites on the map in the supplementary network section of the Avatr app. According to the firm’s data, the power of a single station can reach 480kW, the maximum power of a single charging gun can reach 240kW, and the battery life can reach 200 kilometers after charging for 10 minutes.
The CEO of Avatr announced at the 2022 Chongqing International Auto Exhibition in June this year that Avatr 11, the first model of the brand, will be officially released on August 8 and will be delivered in large quantities at the end of the year.
Avatr 11 is based on CHN, a new-generation SEV technology platform, and is equipped with CATL’s ternary lithium-ion batteries. The declared battery life of the vehicle is 680/555 km, the maximum output power is 425 kW, and the fastest zero-to-one-hundred acceleration time is 3.98 seconds.

Avita 11 is the first model in the industry to be equipped with Huawei HI full-stack smart car solution as the standard configuration. It is equipped with a super-sensing system and a super-computing platform. It is also equipped with an intelligent driving assistance system for urban areas, which has 34 sensors, including three semi-solid laser radars, six millimeter-wave radars, 13 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, with a computing power of 400 TOPS.
In high-speed scenarios, the vehicle can achieve automatic car-following starting and stopping, automatic overtaking, active avoidance, automatic on and off ramps and more. In urban areas, it can realize high-level intelligent driving assistance functions such as unprotected left turn, traffic light recognition, and giving way to pedestrians. In parking lots, it can automatically identify parking spaces, park and bypass obstacles. More functions will be developed with OTA in the future.
