Baidu Cloud Computing Center Officially Settles in Shunde District, Foshan City
Beijing-based technology giant Baidu, Inc. on Tuesday joined hands with Shunde District Government of Foshan City, Guangdong Province to hold a ceremony signing a project investment cooperation agreement and Baidu Cloud Computing (Shunde) Center officially settled in Shunde with a total installed scale of servers exceeding 200,000 units.
According to the agreement, Baidu Cloud Computing Center is an advanced artificial intelligence cloud computing industry base with an overall investment of 10 billion yuan, marking the sixth tens-of-billions-level project in Shunde’s investment promotion this year.
“The establishment of the Baidu Cloud Computing Center is extremely important to the transformation and upgrading of Shunde’s traditional manufacturing industry and it also prompts the city’s new infrastructure,” Guo Wenhai, deputy secretary of the Foshan Municipal Party Committee commented at the ceremony.
Moreover, this is also Baidu‘s first data center cluster to be implemented after the company announced its goal of investing 5 million servers in new infrastructure in the next ten years. The center in Shunde will help the industrial upgrading of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and provide new momentum for new infrastructure in southern China.
The Baidu Cloud Computing Center will select 100 acres of land in each of the Changxing Industrial Park in Shunde High-tech District and Jun’an Town, both located in Shunde District, as well as invest in the construction of two cloud computing centers with 200,000 installed servers.

Owning a base of more than 100 million users and 1 million corporate customers, the main purpose of the center is to carry over 20 products, including Baidu‘s search engine, Baidu Maps, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, autonomous cars, Internet development, etc.
In terms of energy consumption efficiency, the center has an average annual PUE of less than 1.10, ranking first in China.
