Baidu’s Apollo Go partners with Swiss PostBus to launch AmiGo, deploying Level 4 autonomous RT6 vehicles in Switzerland starting December 2025, marking China’s autonomous driving entry into Europe.
Beijing, October 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Baidu’s autonomous ride-hailing service Apollo Go has partnered with Swiss Post’s subsidiary PostBus to launch AmiGo, an on-demand autonomous mobility service in Switzerland, marking China’s Level 4 autonomous driving technology’s entry into Europe.
The service will complement Switzerland’s public transit system, initially rolling out in St. Gallen and two other eastern cantons with phased operations: test fleet trials with safety drivers in December 2025, limited user access in mid-2026, unmanned trials by late 2026, and regular operations by Q1 2027. Users can book private or shared rides via an app, optimizing fleet efficiency.
Baidu provides its latest-generation Level 4 RT6 autonomous electric vehicle, seating four passengers with a detachable steering wheel to be removed in full autonomy. PostBus leverages its local transit expertise for implementation, backed by multiple Swiss cantons and the Federal Office of Transport.
As a global leader in autonomous driving, Apollo Go operates over 1,000 unmanned vehicles across 16 cities, with over 200 million kilometers driven and 14 million public rides. This partnership, following expansions in Dubai and Hong Kong, strengthens China’s intelligent driving technology in Europe.
