Released in November, ERNIE 5.0 boasts 2.4 trillion parameters and native full-modality unified modeling, supporting text, image, audio, and video inputs. It excels in generating structured, logically rigorous content based on nuanced user intent.
Previously tied for second globally, ERNIE 5.0 also ranks first in China for visual understanding, on par with international leaders like Claude Sonnet 4 and GPT-5-High.
The achievement highlights China’s rapid AI progress and innovation, signaling domestic technology closing the gap with global frontrunners and injecting fresh momentum into the worldwide AI ecosystem.
