Big Players Shine at ChinaJoy 2018
One of China’s biggest gaming exhibitions, ChinaJoy2018, closed on August 6th in Shanghai with many companies showcasing games, applications and gadgets on the annual event.
Started on August 3rd, China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference or ChinaJoy 2018, is the 16th session of global digital entertainment industry.
Giant players such as Sony, Xiaomi, and HTC, among game developers and attendees all participated in the show and harvested multiple fruits and potential cooperation opportunities.
During the three-day show, Sony unveiled a new series of China Hero Project games for PlayStation. The China Hero Project was started in 2016 in order to help various Chinese indie studios develop content for the PlayStation family of consoles. One of Sony’s new launches is a role-playing game (RPG) called Monkey King: Hero is Back. The game design is based on the well-known Chinese story of Journey to the West.
Xiaomi released a new gaming laptop at the price of 8,999 yuan ($1314) which has an Intel i7-8750 CPU, 15.6-inch device and 16 GB DDR4, 256GB SSD and a 1 TB hard disk.
HTC debuted its VR headset along with other VR focusing products at the conference as well. Meanwhile, Netease, Chinese online gaming company, confirmed it would be launching a multiplayer open-world VR game on Viveport, HTC’s virtual reality app store, next year.
Started 16 years ago, ChinaJoy was more known for having beautiful show girls back in the days. It was estimated that 340,000 people attended the gaming fest this year in the biggest gaming market.
