Bilibili Launches Headset Brand Bilipods
The official account of Bilipods, a headset brand, was launched on Wednesday by Chinese video community Bilibili.
Bilipods was made to focus on creating an immersive listening experience while users explore the company’s platform, particularly as they view their favorite videos about voice actors and the sound effects found in Japanese animated TV series. Compared with headphones launched by other companies, many of which focus on sports monitoring and health functions, the brand launched by Bilibili aims toward integration with video sharing websites themed around animation, comics, and games (ACG).
At present, Bilipods’ latest product is retailing for 249 yuan ($39). Bilibili developed the headset in partnership with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and feature a Qualcomm QCC3040 chipset while supporting aptX Adaptive audio technology and Bluetooth 5.2. Users can give a like to videos simply by tapping their earbuds.
In February this year, Shanghai Magic Power Information Technology Co., Ltd., a Bilibili affiliate, applied for the “Bilipods” trademark, which was at that time classified as scientific instruments.
