BYD Delivers First Batch of Passenger Cars in Hungary, Plans to Open 6 Stores by the End of Year
According to the official WeChat account of BYD, on February 23rd, BYD successfully delivered the first batch of BYD ATTO 3 vehicles (corresponding to the domestic Yuan PLUS model) to Hungarian owners. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Group, and SZIJJÁRTÓ Péter, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary attended the event. According to official sources, this marks a new chapter for BYD in opening up the Central and Eastern European market.
At present, BYD has established three stores in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and plans to continue expanding its sales and service network. It is expected that by the end of 2024, the number of stores will increase to six. SZIJJÁRTÓ Péter said, ‘We are delighted to witness the milestone event of BYD’s first batch of passenger cars being delivered and look forward to seeing more BYD vehicles on the roads in Hungary in the future.’
At the beginning of this year, BYD signed a land pre-purchase agreement for the BYD Hungary passenger car factory with the Székesfehérvár Municipal Government in Hungary. This marks a new substantial breakthrough in BYD’s localization process in Europe.
BYD announced in December last year that it would build a new energy vehicle production base in Seged City. The base will be constructed in phases and is expected to create thousands of job opportunities locally. This will be BYD’s first European factory for passenger cars, as the company already has a bus factory in Hungary.
ATTO 3, Dolphin, and Seal three models have made their debut in Hungary last October. Hungary is the first Central and Eastern European market that BYD has entered.
