BYD Launched the Sixth EV Model in Chile
On October 6th local time, BYD unveiled the pure electric sedan, BYD Seal, in Santiago, Chile. It has been one of this year’s most anticipated models launched by ASTARA Group, a BYD distributor in Chile. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, and Jaime Gorbeña, President of ASTARA Group were both at present for the launch event.
BYD Seal is the company’s sixth model released in Chile and the world’s first mass-produced vehicle equipped with CTB battery body integration technology.
Built on BYD e-platform 3.0, BYD Seal has achieved new breakthroughs in its safety, handling, and efficiency. As an important model representing BYD’s “ocean aesthetics”, BYD Seal incorporates design elements from the Ocean X concept car, showcasing a low-profile body posture to highlight its sporty feature. It is equipped with iTAC intelligent torque control system, which enhances both safety and vehicle handling.
Like other electric models from BYD, Seal uses high-security blade batteries with a capacity of 82.56 kWh, making its range to reach approximately 520 kilometers (WLTP). The dual motors allow an output of 523 horsepower, enabling fast acceleration from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in just 3.8 seconds.
