BYD New Energy Vehicles to Enter Jordanian Market

BYD, a leading Chinese manufacturer of new energy vehicles, announced on September 28 that it has entered into a cooperation with Bustami & Saheb Trading Company (BSTC), Jordan’s leading car dealership group. The move confirms that BYD’s NEVs will soon be introduced into the Jordanian market.

BYD held an online signing ceremony with Mobility Solutions Auto Trade Co. (MSTC), an NEV sales company under BSTC Group, and the events were synced between BYD’s global headquarters in Shenzhen and BSTC Group’s headquarters in Amman.

BSTC Group has a history of more than 50 years in the automotive industry and, in cooperation with BYD, is striving to become the first supplier of advanced electric vehicle products in Jordan to meet the needs of local technological transformation.

Rami Al-Saheb, Chairman of Board of BSTC, said, “The cost of fuel in Jordan is high, currently ranking fourth in the world. There is a huge demand for new energy vehicles. The government has also issued relevant favorable laws and regulations to promote the rapid development of new energy vehicles in the local automobile market. As a leader in new energy vehicles, BYD has greatly promoted the development of new energy vehicle technology. Thanks to BYD’s trust, we will jointly open a new chapter for Jordan’s new energy vehicles.”

AD Huang, the general manager of BYD’s Middle East and Africa Auto Sales Division, said, “BYD is very happy to cooperate with MSTC. We will join hands to release a number of new energy vehicles in Jordan.”

After 27 years of development, BYD has fully mastered the core technologies of the auto industrial chain, including batteries, motors, electronic control and car gauge chips. As a result, it has become an enterprise that provides one-stop solutions for new energy resources.

Its overseas layout is also constantly increasing. On July 21, BYD announced its entry into the Japanese passenger car market, unveiling three models: the Yuan PLUS, Dolphin and Seal. In early August, the company announced that it would enter the German and Swedish markets, with the first batch of cars expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter. It also announced previously that it would enter the Danish market this year and its first offline store would open in Copenhagen in the fourth quarter.

So far, BYD’s new energy vehicles have been sold in more than 70 countries and regions around the world, across more than 400 cities. In the first half of 2022, BYD’s NEV sales exceeded 640,000 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 315%. BYD maintains a leading position in China’s new energy vehicle market, and has recently surpassed Tesla to become the global leader in NEV sales.
