BYD Reveals Business Progress in Brazil
According to a record sheet of investor relations disclosed by Chinese automaker BYD on May 27, the firm will aim to further enhance its popularity in Brazil’s passenger car market with the introduction of its Han EV series.
BYD officially entered the Brazilian pure electric passenger car market in December 2021, cooperating with many leading local car dealer such as Eurobike, Saga and Servopa. It is estimated that by the end of this year, BYD Brazil will join hands with dealers to cover 45 major cities in Brazil, and it plans to have 100 designated dealers by the end of 2023.
The all-wheel-drive flagship Han EV series, which was unveiled in Brazil with high performance, can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers in just 3.9 seconds. The pure electric cruising range of the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) under comprehensive working conditions can reach 550 km.
BYD also announced on April 1 that it had secured another order for 48 12-meter pure electric buses from Volánbusz, the largest public transport operator in Hungary. The deal is BYD’s largest order yet for electric buses in the Hungarian market. The vehicles are expected to be delivered by the end of this year and put into operation in five cities in Hungary.

BYD also offered insight regarding the Denza brand, which was created through a cooperation with Daimler AG. BYD said that the strategic development of Denza will be led by BYD and supported by Mercedes-Benz. It will be responsible for the strategic planning of Denza, providing comprehensive and strong support, especially in technological R&D and product planning. Denza will have three independent attributes: its own brand, its own team, and its own product matrix and design language.
