BYD Seagull Receives Over 10,000 Orders on the First Day of Pre-sale
The 2023 Auto Shanghai opened, and BYD debuted multiple new cars. Its sub-brand’s micro electric vehicle, BYD Seagull, officially started pre-sales on April 18th with a price range of ¥78,800 RMB to 95,800 RMB ($12,000 to $14,000 USD). Official data shows that the number of orders for BYD Seagull exceeded 10,000 within the first 24 hours of its pre-sale launch.
BYD Seagull is positioned as the “new generation mainstream commuter car”, built on the e-platform 3.0 technology, and can accommodate up to 5 people. The entire series comes standard with four safety airbags and offers two versions of the range: 305 kilometers and 405 kilometers.
The interior is similar to that of the BYD Dolphin, equipped with a suspended LCD instrument panel and a suspended central control screen. At the launch event, this car attracted the attention of many consumers.
As the entry-level model with the lowest price under BYD, the pre-sale of over 10,000 units in a short period of time for BYD Seagull makes it expected to become another hot-selling model following BYD Dolphin. The monthly sales volume of BYD Dolphin exceeded 30,000 units for the first time in March, and its cumulative sales volume has exceeded 300,000 units since its launch.
