BYD Seal Champion Edition Releases with A New 700km Luxury Version

On May 10th, it was announced that the BYD Seal Champion Edition has officially launched. Compared to the old model which was priced at ¥209,800-286,800 (about $30,000-$42,000), the new version is priced ¥20,000 lower ($3,000) and also includes a new luxury version with a range of up to 700km.

The official guide price for the BYD Seal Champion Edition is as follows:

550km Elite edition, priced at ¥189,800 (about $27,000 ).
550km Prestige edition, priced at ¥202,800 (about $29,000).
700km Prestige edition, priced at ¥222,800 (about $32,000).
700km Performance edition, priced at ¥239,800 (about $35,000).
650km Four-wheel drive performance edition is priced at ¥279,800 (about $40,000).

In addition to the newly added 700km Prestige model, the Seal Champion Edition has also improved its overall competitiveness through upgraded configurations. In addition, users who purchase a car from now until May 31 can enjoy multiple gifts including financial services, maintenance, and network traffic.

Compared to the standard version, the champion edition model has added leather seats, a leather steering wheel, rear privacy glass, and an adjustable cup holder in the armrest box.

In addition, the Seal Champion Edition 650km four-wheel drive performance version comes standard with a light-sensitive panoramic sunroof (optional for the 700km range model), super iTAC Pirelli silent tires, and 19-inch five-spoke double fork wheels. The four-wheel drive version is equipped with a suede interior (previously only available in the package edition).

There are not many changes in appearance. The Seal Champion Edition offers four body colors: North Ice Blue, Aurora White, Black Space Black, and Atlantis Gray. In addition, Wind Grass Green and Mysterious Gray are available as optional colors.

As for the interior color scheme, the Seal Champion Edition provides Thomas black and Pontus black exclusively for the 650km four-wheel drive performance model to further enhance its sporty attributes.

In terms of configuration, the Seal Champion Edition is equipped with an intelligent up and down power function and electronic child lock as standard. The NFC car key, which is standard across the range, has further increased support for Apple’s iOS system on top of the original Android system.

The powertrain has added a 700km luxury model on the basis of retaining the original vehicle model. It is equipped with an electric drive assembly with a maximum power of 170kW and a maximum torque of 330Nm, and is equipped with high-voltage electric drive boost fast charging technology with a maximum charging power of 150kW.
