BYD ‘SUPER 8’ SUV Will Adopt Huawei ADS 3.0

Insiders close to BYD have revealed that the news circulating online about the SUPER 8 being equipped with Huawei’s Advanced Driving System is true.

Regarding concerns from the public about whether the launch date of the SUPER 8 will be delayed from the originally planned third quarter to the fourth quarter, or even until the end of the year, the company responded that the new car will be released soon. Insiders disclosed that the SUPER 8 is highly likely to be launched in September as previously scheduled.

According to official sources, the SUPER 8 is built on the BYD DMO Super Hybrid Off-Road Platform and will provide the DiSus active hydraulic body control system. The new vehicle measures 5195/1994/1875 (1905) mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2920 mm.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a hybrid architecture specially designed for off-road, featuring the DM-o hybrid system, which includes a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 200kW (272ps) and a peak power of 200kW at the front and 300kW at the rear with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery.

The SUPER 8 is equipped with an integrated instrument screen and a co-driver screen, along with a floating central control large screen. It features a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a ‘yacht-style’ electronic gear shift mechanism, while also retaining a large number of physical buttons.
