BYD Will Invest 100 Billion Yuan in Developing AI and Smart Technology for Cars

BYD‘s 30th anniversary and the launch of the 10 millionth new energy vehicle will be held on the morning of November 18. BYD announced that it will invest 100 billion yuan in developing intelligent technology combining artificial intelligence and automobiles, achieving comprehensive vehicle intelligence advancement to win future technological discourse power.

BYD is the first global car manufacturer to reach the milestone of producing 10 million new energy vehicles. It took BYD 15 years to achieve the first 5 million, while only 15 months for the second 5 million.

At the event, Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and CEO of BYD, presented the Denza Z9 as their 10 millionth new energy vehicle to Feng Ji, founder and CEO of Game Science and producer of ‘Black Myth: Wukong’.

In addition to giving away new car ownership rights to 90 lucky winners at the event, Wang Chuanfu also announced a plan for BYD to establish a ￥3 billion charity fund focusing on education philanthropy. The fund will provide scholarships in multiple universities nationwide and donate new energy dissecting cars for educational purposes in vocational schools, museums, and science centers across China.
