BYD’s Self-Developed Urban NOA Is Expected to Be Launched in March
Recently, we learned from domestic media that the first batch of BYD Urban Navigation (also known as Urban NOA) will be launched on March 30th. Among the existing lineup of over 20 models, Denza N7 will be the earliest model to apply advanced intelligent driving functions. In mid-January, Denza N7 has already introduced highway NOA (navigate on autopilot) and covered 46 cities. It is reported that the initial launch of BYD City Pilot will include a group of major cities including Shenzhen.
At the BYD Dream Day event in January this year, BYD first shared its NOA feature. In the first quarter of this year, Denza N7 will be the first to be equipped with NOA, while YangWang U8 will have high-speed NOA. Additionally, after the 2024 facelift of Han and Tang models from Dynasty series, some versions will also adopt self-developed advanced algorithms. The Sea Lion 07 EV from BYD Ocean Series will support advanced driving features such as NOA and is expected to be launched in the first half of 2024.
At the press conference in January this year, Wang Chuanfu stated that BYD’s advanced intelligent driving system will be optional for models priced above 200,000 yuan and standard for models priced above 300,000 yuan in the future. In addition, it is expected that BYD will have more than 10 models equipped with LiDAR by 2024. It is reported that BYD’s entire intelligent driving team consists of over 4,000 people, including over 1,000 algorithm engineers and hardware engineers, as well as over 3,000 software engineers.
