BYD’s Yuan Plus Model to Launch in Singapore

Shenzhen-based automaker BYD announced on Monday that its Singapore division will cooperate with local distributor E- Auto to officially launch the BYD Yuan Plus model in the second quarter of 2022.

E-Auto, which belongs to Vantage Automotive Limited, is an important member of the Sime Darby Automobile Group. It brings nearly 20 years of business experience and will be responsible for the sale of the Yuan Plus in Singapore.

Christopher Chin, General Manager of Vantage Automotive Limited, said: “It is an honor to reach a cooperation with BYD. With the vigorous development of the new energy vehicle market, we are very optimistic about the development prospects of BYD cars in Singapore.”

BYD’s Yuan Plus model was unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2021. Its pre-sale period in China will officially start on January 1, 2022, and will enter the market in the first quarter of 2022. According to sources, the model comes in five versions, including cruising ranges of 430km and 510km, sold at prices between 130,000 yuan ($20,395) and 155,000 yuan ($24,315).

BYD said that Yuan Plus adopts the BYD Dragon Face 3.0 design, and is matched with a rhythmic interior decoration inspired by fitness and sports. Two models will be launched in Singapore, including the entry version with a 50kWh battery to achieve a 400 km (NEDC) cruising range, and the high-end version with a 60kWh battery to achieve a 500 km (NEDC) cruising range.
