Canalys Releases Ranking of Q1 Global TWS Vendors
According to a report released by Canalys on Wednesday, a technology market analysis institution, TWS earbuds shipments steadily increased in the first quarter of 2022, reaching 68 million units.
Apple took first place with a 32% market share, an increase of 14% compared with the first quarter of 2021. Samsung and Xiaomi maintained second and third positions with 9% and 7% market share respectively. Skullcandy and Edifier, as leading audio manufacturers, ranked fourth and fifth with great sound quality and lower prices, increasing by 53% and 24% respectively.
In the Chinese market, the top five TWS earbuds makers with the most shipments in the first quarter of 2022 were Apple, Xiaomi, Rambler, Huawei and QCY, with market shares of 16%, 15%, 12%, 11% and 8% respectively.
According to data released by Canalys in April, the annual shipments of TWS earbuds in 2021 reached 290 million units, up 14.5% year-on-year. In particular, Apple still ranks first in the world with nearly 93 million shipments. However, according to a report by Nikkei Asia at the end of March, considering the current nearly saturated production capacity and slowing market demand, Apple is expected to reduce the output of its AirPods by about 10 million units this year.
According to Canalys’ own speculation, the TWS headset market will continue to grow within the next five years while total shipments are expected to reach 1.05 billion pairs in 2024, with a compound annual growth rate of 15.04%.
