Canalys Releases Ranking Q1 Global Wristband Vendors
According to a Canalys report released on Friday, in the first quarter of 2022, global shipments of wristband devices decreased by 4% to 41.7 million units. At the same time, the transition from wristband to smart watches is continuing.
In the first quarter of 2022, the top five manufacturers in the global wristband equipment market were Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, Samsung and Fitbit, with market shares of 22%, 11%, 10%, 8% and 7% respectively.
Thanks to the strong market demand for Apple’s Watch Series 7, the company still maintains a leading position in the smart watch field. Although Huawei’s wearable device business performed well and ranked second, with the reduction of smartphone business, Huawei’s shipments still showed a downward trend.
Though showing an overall down trend, the supply of Mi and Redmi watches is increasing making Xiaomi still rank third on the list. Samsung adjusted its product portfolio and increased its investment in watches as it ranked fourth with an increasing market share. Fitbit’s shipments declined, but it still ranked among the top five.
