Changan Automobile’s Deep Blue SL03 to Start Sales in July

Deep Blue, a new energy vehicle brand of Changan Automobile, is soon coming out with a new car called the SL03, which will start sales in July and delivery in August. The model is based on Changan’s brand-new EPA1 pure electric platform, with a pre-sale range of 179,800 yuan to 231,800 yuan ($26,682 – $34,399).

In order to reduce wind resistance, the new vehicle also adopts hidden door handles and low wind resistance wheels. The length, width and height of the new car are 4820mm/1890mm/1480mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2900mm.

The new model provides a 14.6-inch full LCD touch screen, augmented-reality HUD, and a 1.9 square meter panoramic awning which can block 99% ultraviolet rays.

In terms of power, Deep Blue SL03 is equipped with new-generation drive with a maximum power of 190kW and a peak torque of 320 N · m. The acceleration from 0 to 100km/h takes only 5.9 seconds.

The SL03 provide three power modes: pure electric, extended range and hydrogen-powered. The extended range version and hydrogen-powered version enjoy comprehensive cruising range under CLTC conditions of 1,200km and 700km respectively.

On April 13, Deep Blue was released. Eight days later, Deep Blue C385 was unveiled, providing the same three power modes. Deep Blue is reportedly oriented towards generation-Z consumers, and five new cars have been planned.
