China has entered a new phase of commercial spaceflight as Ziwei Technology’s cargo spacecraft mission marks the country’s first commercial operation of small orbital freight vehicles.
China has reached a new milestone in commercial spaceflight with the successful launch of a commercial space cargo mission, marking the country’s first realization of commercialized operations for small cargo spacecraft.
A space experiment vehicle independently developed by Ziwei Technology was successfully launched aboard the Kuaizhou-11 launch vehicle and accurately inserted into its designated orbit. The mission signals a critical step forward in China’s efforts to commercialize space-based logistics and orbital services.
China’s commercial launch activity has been accelerating in recent months. Among the upcoming missions, the Long March 12A rocket is scheduled to make its maiden flight on December 17, with the ambitious goal of achieving both launch success and booster recovery—a dual objective that would further strengthen China’s position in reusable and cost-efficient launch technologies.
